Jackal is countered by Caveira (silent Step removes pings), Mute (jammer blocks scanning near it) and Skopós (shell swap misdirects pings). Jackal counters Oryx (hunts down Oryx) and Vigil (footprints still show through ERC-7). Jackal pairs best with Lion, Dokkaebi and Deimos.

Jackal's gadget: Eyenox Model III

Visor that scans a defender's footprints (within 8 m, ~3 s) and then pings that defender every 5 s for 20 s (4 pings); limited scans and once per defender.

• Jackal > Vigil is wrong. TRUE claim in the model: ERC-7 only hides visual feeds, footprints still show. Keep Jackal outside the CLOAKED list.

Key Jackal facts (Y11S3)

• Scan within 8 m, ~3 s; tracking lasts 20 s with a ping every 5 s; 5 activations, once per defender; identifies an unidentified defender for the team. (since Y5+ (current values per wiki))
• Vigil's ERC-7 does not hide his footprints: Jackal can still track Vigil. (since Y2S1)
• Caveira's Silent Step negates the 3D pings (she is still identified). (since Y2S1)
• Mute's jammer stops scanning only if Jackal is inside its range (and adds static); it does not protect a tracked defender elsewhere. The Mute page lists Jackal's Eyenox among gadgets the jammer doesn't stop. (since Y2S1)
• Skopós can switch shells so pings land on the inactive shell; Echo's Yokai and Ela's concussion switch the Eyenox off. (since Y9S2+)
