Volcán Shields became Volcán Canisters in 7.1.0 (March 2022). Goyo has 4. Hitting the red canister with gunfire, explosives or melee makes 20 s of fire at 36 DPS that damages no gadgets. On a soft wall it also spreads a little fire through the hole; on a hatch it destroys the hatch and fire drops to the floor below; on a barricade it detonates when the barricade breaks. (since Y7S1 (7.1.0))
The canister is immune to electricity (Bandit and Kaid can electrify it safely) and is mechanical, so Thatcher/IQ-style electronic counters don't apply.
Ash's rounds, Sledge's hammer, Zofia's impacts, Maverick's torch, Twitch's drone and Zero's laser can set canisters off early, ideally while no attacker is in the fire. Attacks through the floor can trigger it too.
Jäger's ADS can protect canisters from thrown triggers, and Wamai's Mag-NET can pull a frag onto a canister to set it off at the right time.
