Kaid: counters, combos and tips

Kaid is countered by Kali (lance destroys claws through the wall), Maverick (the torch ignores electricity) and Thatcher (EGS disables claws). Kaid counters Ace (SELMAs fail on electrified walls), Hibana (pellets die on electrified walls and hatches) and Thermite (charge cooked if it is placed on a live wall). Kaid pairs best with Bandit, Jäger and Mute.

Kaid's gadget: Rtila Electroclaw

Two thrown claws that electrify every metal object within 1.4 m, through surfaces: up to three reinforced walls, reinforced hatches, barbed wire, shields and (since Y11S1) Castle panels.

Where Kaid is strong

• Strong anchor on Oregon. Sites: Oregon Kids' Dorms / Dorms Main Hall, Oregon Dining Hall / Kitchen, Oregon Kitchen / Meeting Hall, Oregon Laundry Room / Supply Room.
• Claw on Freezer wall makes Garage-side breach fail. Sites: Kafe Dostoyevsky Kitchen Cooking / Kitchen Service.
• Electroclaws on the attic walls stop both wall pushes at once. Sites: Oregon Kitchen / Meeting Hall.

Kaid myths

• Ram beats Kaid (Border 2F). No interaction. The BU-GI only cuts soft floors and unreinforced hatches and is immune to electricity. Kaid's hatch denial is about reinforced hatches and hard breachers (Hibana), which Ram doesn't use. Ram makes a hatch-based Kaid setup less relevant, but she doesn't switch Kaid off.
• Kaid stops Maverick. The torch works on electrified walls.

Key Kaid facts (Y11S3)

• Each Electroclaw electrifies all metal within a 1.4 m radius, through surfaces, so one claw in the middle can cover three reinforced walls. Shocked objects behave like Bandit's.
• Claws electrify reinforced hatches, which destroys Hibana pellets, Thermite/hard-breach charges and Ace SELMAs placed on them. Buck, Sledge and Ram can't open a reinforced hatch anyway.
• Activation time cut from 4 to 3.5 s in Y11S1.3 (May 5, 2026). A claw still can't kill a Thermite charge that is already burning when it lands. (since Y11S1.3)
• From Operation Tenfold Pursuit (Y11S1, March 2026), claws can electrify Castle's armor panels, burning breach charges and Ash rounds that hit them. (since Y11S1)
• Electricity no longer damages operators (Siege X), only slows them, and it now also destroys defender gadgets on the electrified surface. (since Y10S2)
• Thatcher's EGS disables claws. Twitch's drone, Kali's Lance (through the wall), Zero's cameras and Flores's RCE destroy them, Brava's Kludge destroys them on hack, and IQ detects them. Claws are easier to hide from Twitch than Bandit's batteries.
