- Kapkan has 5 EDDs that go in any barricadable doorway (ankle to head height) or window (chest to head). The laser goes invisible after deploy, and an EDD explodes when an attacker breaks the tripwire (including by meleeing a window barricade). Radius 3 m.
- EDD damage raised from 60 to 62 in the Y11S3 designer's notes (Aug 2026). (since Y11S3)
- EDDs are electronic: IQ detects them, Thatcher disables them, Twitch destroys them, and Brava's Kludge flips them to blow up on Kapkan's team. Attackers can also vault or duck under, shields reduce the damage, and gunfire or explosives destroy them.
- Ram's BU-GI triggers low-installed Kapkan traps in its path. (since Y8S3)
